And besties- I'm also obviously sorry that we haven't been doing as much baking together this year as I originally wanted (but sometimes life doesn't go to plan). Thank you, again, for being here though!
Sweet Paola, I'm old enough to be your mother and I'm so sorry for everything that you've been through, but I'm also so proud of the your bravery and integrity with which you're carrying yourself through it all. We'll be here with you!
Thank you for such a sweet note Jenn (I haven't felt very brave tbch over the past couple months... but perhaps we can change that). Thank you for being here with me ;)
Hello my darling, I have been following you for years, I don’t follow anyone but I never unsubscribed because seeing your recipes come in my emails always made me feel warm inside. I’m not sure what caught my eye this morning to open your email, maybe because I have left over pumpkin…
My heart goes out to you for you to find the strength and support you need… big hugs x Bee.
I write w a full heart, empathetic and with kindness. I celebrate your fortitude and growth from such tragic circumstances as well a good turn of events brought about with fortitude and the courage of those women. I was abandoned at birth and lets say it was a very similar path, for one and a half years till adopted, for the little boy I was. I was left unable to speak for years, totally scarred, my life changed for ever. When reading you have found your voice it is celebrated by this old guy, I applaud you in every way. The strength of you. Incredible. You shine. Speak even if your voice shakes. You are supported and believed.
Thank you, Paola, for sharing your story. I find it hard to love men (collectively) these days. They do so much harm to my sisters (and the world in general) with their violence, emotional abuse, war, etc They've been doing so for generations. The more we speak up and seek justice the more likely we can shift the culture away from male dominance and power tripping.
I was blessed to be raised by parents that encouraged female power and sovereignty. I was given the tools to defend myself and taught to hold the expectation that I would be treated well by the men around me. And that if I wasn't I should give them no more of my time.
I am the mother of two beautiful sons. I taught them the value of respect. They know that no means no. They even know that maybe means no.
I am sorry this happened to you. More than sorry really, I feel rage as well when I read experiences such as yours.
I admire your courage and that you have crafted a life you love anyway.
I am so glad you were validated. I was abused by a surgeon in the course of 18 operations. I tried to join a class action lawsuit against him, but the 2 year statue of limitations prohibited my ability to get justice. He was the President of the Ulcerative Colitis Foundation. 30 yrs later, long story short, someone close to the situation advised me to go to Vitals. com.(you might look there yourself)
It was there, where I saw 20 paragraphs of stories from his former patients claiming abuse. I burst into tears because for the first time since that nightmare began, I was validated. I hope this will ease your burden to know you were right. Lock that bastard up and throw away the key ❤️
I was so excited to see a new wonderful sour dough recipe in my inbox, it’s been awhile ! I’m very excited to try this recipe and I love pumpkin! Paola, I’m so very sorry to hear why you haven’t been posting 😢 May you be encouraged by your many followers, you are strong and courageous and may you be blessed
My dear girl, as a mother of a daughter who has been abused in the work place, I wish I could give you a big hug and hold you, and comfort you and make it all go away. I am so sorry you have gone through this and no one would listen. I pray for justice and healing for you! Mostly, I am just so thankful to hear from you, I have been worried all these months with no communications from you and all that you were going through previously. You certainly bring life to baking and cooking with your creative ideas, again, I am so sorry you have had to endure this journey.
I'm sending love and understanding your way. You are a testimony to the power of mankind. Knowing you through your stories and recipes has been such a treasure, a friend I never met but feel so connected to! I'm happy for you to be getting justice and setting an example for others in similar situations.
My heart goes out to you… and also my congratulations, as you’ve come out a winner in spite of everything. You are a beautiful soul and I wish reciprocal beauty for you for the rest of your life!
I think about you every single time I make one of your recipes- the almond flour brownies are a forever staple.
I’m so sorry about everything that you’ve been through, and I’m so glad all you brave women are coming together. But I’m also grateful that you’re someone who chose to create rather than hate with their life, as you’ve touched more people than you can imagine with your creations. I’m here for the sourdough and the tea. Be well beautiful soul ✨
